Just because we can automate something, should we?
Greater capability does not automatically lead to better decisions.
I have spent much of my career working with technology, businesses and people. One thing I have learned is that technology rarely fixes problems we have not properly understood.
Sometimes the right answer is a new tool. Sometimes it is a better process, a challenged assumption or a different question altogether.
For me, clarity comes before action.
Questions worth exploring.
I’m interested in how AI changes the decisions leaders make, the responsibilities they carry and the way organisations work.
What should remain a human decision?
As AI systems become more capable, knowing where human judgment belongs matters more.
Are we improving a system, or making it faster?
Automation can strengthen a good process. It can also amplify a weak one.
Who remains accountable?
Technology can change how decisions are made. It cannot remove responsibility.
Clarity before automation.
Before asking what AI can do, I prefer to ask what the organisation is trying to achieve.

My perspective was shaped long before AI.
My work has taken me through technology, regional business leadership, entrepreneurship, consulting and education.
I’ve led operations, built businesses and navigated decisions without predictable outcomes. Some ventures grew, some were acquired, and others changed direction or ended.
Teaching added another perspective: asking better questions, explaining complex ideas and helping others develop their own judgment.
